Product Review: Japanese Eyebrow Pencils

From the moment I discovered Sa Sa, I was itching to make an order. There are a lot of cosmetics from Japan that I've been missing, as well as some that I regret not trying out while I had the chance. I tested the waters and placed an order a few months back. I ordered two inexpensive eyebrow pencils, Koji Spring Heart Oval Eyebrow in Dark Brown and Kiss Me Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow in Dark Brown.

Both pencils are automatic, nearly identical in color, contain quite a bit of product, and have great staying power. Truthfully, the difference between them is more a matter of preference than anything else.

Koji Spring Heart Oval Eyebrow ended up being my favorite out of the two. I prefer a darker brow and the size of the pencil makes filling in my brows much easier. However, the application looks so natural that I usually end up going over my brow with a bit of NYX brow powder to make the line a bit more bold. The two make for a dark, long-lasting combination.

The addition of a brush at the end is a plus because, well, it's one less thing I have to root around for. I also imagine the brush would make this pencil great for taking on the go or traveling.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow is definitely a pencil that I would recommend to those who prefer a very natural, slightly enhanced brow. The pencil is very thin and makes for an easy, light application.

The only thing that really bothered about this pencil was that it came with quite a bit less product than the Koji pencil did. However, that doesn't say all that much because they both contain more than enough product.

For anyone considering ordering from Sa Sa: The shipping was fast, my products arrived extremely well packaged, and I got a free sample with my order. And we know how much I like extras. All in all, the transaction was flawless and I would recommend ordering from them if you're on the hunt for some Japanese cosmetics.

  1. I totally neglect my brows, I guess I'm not at all comfortable filling them in on a daily basis : /
I've been tempted to order from Sasa for some time now but never got around to do it and not long ago I found a store in Amazon that sells a lot of Korean brands (Skin79, Missha, Etude House, etc) and cheaper than Sasa so I went for them instead, but in the future I will consider taking advantage of their free shipping (they offer that often) and get some Hadalabo skin care products that a blogger friend recommended ^^

    1. I didn't star fussing with my brows until about a year ago. Now I can't go without filling them in, haha. It's a bit odd.

I had never thought to check Amazon. I swear, that site has everything.
